You may have noticed the new shiny icons in the admin screens in WordPress 7.2 Beta. As previously announced on Replacing Dashicons in the admin bar and menu, the icons in the admin bar and menu are now inline SVGs from @wordpress/icons. Before, they were Dashicons font glyphs drawn with CSS ::before.
Most plugins and themes need no changes. Registering menu pages and admin bar nodes, with or without Dashicons, works as before. However, CSS such as admin color schemes and admin themes may need a small update. If your plugin modifies core icons, it might also need updating.
